In Judaism, Tahara (טָהֳרָה) refers to the ritual purification of a deceased person’s body before burial. It is an essential part of Jewish funeral rites, performed by a group known as the Chevra Kadisha (חֶבְרָה קַדִּישָׁא), or the holy burial society. The process ensures that the body is treated with dignity and respect according to Jewish law (halacha). These are the prayers recited by our Chevra Kadisha as they perform Tahara.
