The Annual OVS Hanukkah Bazaar will be held this Sunday, December 8. This is a tremendous fundraiser for our kehilah, and a well-known event in the Atlanta Jewish community. Please join us of for the festivities on Sunday: we’ll have delicious baked goods (burekas sell out quickly!), children’s activities, a diverse group of vendors, and many purchasing opportunities - the book sale is an especially great value! Of course the best part of the bazaar, is running into many friends from our congregation and the community at-large. If you would like to not only attend, but also assist with the Bazaar, please reach out to the Sisterhood to see if any volunteer opportunities remain.

We will be honoring our beloved Rabbi Kassorla with a special tribute kiddush on Saturday, December 14. I hope that we will have significant attendance both for services and the Kiddush, so that we can show Rabbi how much we appreciate his tenure, and how deeply we will miss him once he leaves on sabbatical. Please RSVP to the OVS office if you plan to attend.

I also hope that every member of the congregation will take the time to write a note or letter, sharing how Rabbi Kassorla has impacted your life during his time at OVS – with photos, if available. Children may also participate with a note or a drawing. A committee, led by my wife, Allison Bouhadana, will be creating a memory book with all the mementos the office receives. Please send materials to or drop it off at the OVS office, with “Attn: Memory Book”.

I look forward to seeing you at services and the Bazaar this weekend!

Shabbat Shalom,
