Michael Bouhadana

It’s hard to believe that Rosh Hashanah is less than two weeks away!

While many of you are likely preparing for meals and gatherings, I know that there are some members who are away from family and don’t yet have plans. If you are hosting a luncheon or dinner over the holidays, and have room for one or more additional guests, please notify the OVS office. It is our pleasure to help ensure that none of our members spend the holidays alone.

Members should have now received the high holidays packets. These packets contain important information about this year’s services, along with registration for children’s programming, admission tickets and parking passes. If you have not received your packet, please notify the OVS office.

In honor of the upcoming holiday, we are hosting a special Congregational Dinner on Friday, September 20th, featuring a Syrian Rosh Hashanah menu. Margot Alfie will be catering the meal, as well as explaining her Rosh Hashanah meal planning and significance behind the recipes chosen. Whether you are looking for ideas for your Rosh Hashanah menu, or simply want to enjoy good food and lively conversation, please join us Friday night. The event is free for members (donation suggested).

In other synagogue news, the Nominating Committee, chaired by Richard Maslia, is in the process of finalizing the slate for the 2020 OVS board. If you are interested in serving on the board, or want to recommend a candidate, please contact Richard as soon as possible- the slate is filling up quickly!

Shabbat Shalom,

Michael Bouhadana
