A message from the OVS President

Our community recently lost a couple of longtime members, and I know that these special women are greatly missed by their families, friends, and our community at large. I hope that those experiencing loss have found comfort in our tradition of communal grieving, and I sincerely appreciate all of our members who have taken the time to attend shiva, bring food, or offer condolences to those in need.

Our community comes together in times of sadness and joy. I’m looking forward to several joyous gatherings ahead -- the monthly Congregational Dinner returning next Friday August 9th and
the Mitzvot Auction Dinner, Sunday, September 8th.

Of course, one of the most festive times of the year will soon be upon us, and I hope that you are planning to spend the High Holidays with us at OVS. If you are planning to bring children to High Holiday services, please let the office know - this will help us in planning our children’s program.
