I hope that everyone enjoyed the Memorial Day holiday despite the scorching hot weather, it was a beautiful weekend in Atlanta!
I had the pleasure of meeting the extended family of Rabbi Ichay (z”l) following Shabbat services last week. It was wonderful to meet these warm people, who traveled from Great Britain and Singapore to celebrate a family wedding. You never know who you might meet at services - come join us this week!
Shavuot will soon be upon us, and we will be honoring the tradition of all-night study with a late-night study session on the first night. Please see the Shavuot schedule in this e-mail. Come for the cheesecake, stay for the wisdom!
Finally, I’d like to thank all of the OVS board members who have volunteered their time to serve as Shabbat greeters. Having greeters present at services helps our synagogue to remain a safe and friendly place. We are now asking all OVS members to consider volunteering as greeters, either for Shabbat or holiday services. Please see the sign up information below. Thank you to Steve Alhadeff and Ann Snyder Benator for spearheading this effort - such a great idea!
Shabbat Shalom,
Michael
