A message from OVS President Michael Bouhadana

Michael Bouhadana

Last Shabbat, many gathered to celebrate the memory of a beloved member of our congregation, Saundra Russo.  Rabbi Kassorla delivered a heartfelt and thought-provoking sermon, reminding us all to be more mindful of the blessings in our midst.

After we said the kiddush, Rabbi announced that the two newest members of our congregation were joining us for the first time: Ella Akbashev and Miriam Sendel. The juxtaposition of saying goodbye to a longtime member, and welcoming newborn members reminded me of just how many life cycle events
we share here at Or VeShalom.

We are so fortunate to have welcomed many new members into our OVS family over the years - whether by birth, marriage or relocation - and are equally fortunate to have a community that rallies in less joyous times. It warmed my heart to see so many in attendance for the special kiddush In Saundra Russo‚Äôs honor, and I am grateful to Michelle Rich and the Sisterhood for helping to arrange food for the shiva period.

Thank you to all of our members, both longtime and new, for making Or VeShalom such a warm and welcoming place.

Shabbat Shalom,
