A message from OVS President Michael Bouhadana

Michael Bouhadana

We had more than 20 people join our Friday night Shabbat congregational dinner. Thank you to Rabbi Kassorla for a spiritual evening and to Margot Alfie for preparing a beautiful dinner. Our next Shabbat dinner is Sept. 28th.
I hope everyone benefitted from attending the town hall meetings last Sunday and Monday. We had positive and focused discussions about how we increase participation of our members and engagement of the broader Jewish community at Congregation OrVeshalom. The sessions were very well attended. We appreciate the efforts of Michele Levin, the Future of OVS Committee, and all our volunteers for helping to facilitate such positive discussion. The committee hopes to present its overall findings to our board in November and at the general meeting
for members in December.
The High Holy Days are fast approaching with erev Rosh Hashanah on Sunday, September 9 and erev Yom Kippur on Tuesday, September 18. We are looking forward to Rabbi Kassorla and Rabbi Sultan leading us through this special time of the year; they work so well together as a team. I’m sure you’ll walk away elevated by the spiritual leadership of Rabbi Kassorla and inspired by the warm singing voice of Rabbi Sultan.  Please call the office if you need more information.

Shabbat Shalom,
