“To help other people at all times” is a basic tenet of one of the largest youth organizations in the USA. Please join me in saying thank you to Nathan Holden. As part of his process to become an Eagle Scout, Nathan is creating an outdoor natural space for our community to enjoy; including building two benches, planting trees and bushes. Our community is proud to host the Atlanta Boy Scouts Troop 73. Hearing about Nathan’s project inspired me to remind the congregation that we have many young people among us and to be grateful of their contributions.  On behalf of the congregation, I would like to express our appreciation to all the members of Troop 73. Please call the office to learn more about Troop 73 or to help Nathan in his efforts.

I would like to highlight an upcoming Friday night dinner on July 27. Margot Alfie will delight us with her cuisine and you’ll have an opportunity for a religious conversation with Rabbi Kassorla. As OVS President, I often have the benefit of meeting one-one-one with the Rabbi; I learn, argue and debate with him on religious and other topics. Our discussions leave me feeling positive and energized. Please come to our OVS Friday night dinner. You’ll honor the Shabbat with our community, enjoy thoughtful discussions over a wonderful dinner, and hopefully also walk away feeling positive and energized.
