A message from OVS President Michael Bouhadana

Michael Bouhadana

Earlier in the year, I visited the Atlanta Mercedes Benz stadium for a business related event. It's a remarkable structure; but what I found most intriguing was the lack of signs and sponsor banners. Stadium promotions are completely digital. The stadium changes its banners digitally depending on the sporting event of the day. It's safe to say, one could miss out on valuable stadium promotions without a mobile phone or general access to the Internet. We're not a $1.5 billion football stadium, but it is possible you could miss out on important OVS promotion without access to email or the OVS website. It's important to highlight, that we actively promote events on the Internet.
The following are a few OVS initiatives you could plug-in digitally through your mobile phone or computer:
1) Join our Facebook page. Rabbi Kassorla delivers a wonderful D'var Torah 'live on Facebook' every Friday afternoon. It's an excellent learning opportunity for everyone. Rabbi Kassorla's D'Var Torah is popular, accumulating a significant number of views in Atlanta and the broader Jewish community. We also post pictures from around our community and post relevant news from the Sephardic world.

2) Contact the office to send you an invite to our 'Crew' app. It's through the 'Crew' mobile app that we announce religious events during the week. We ask members to acknowledge attendance, thereby increasing our likelihood of a minyan. I would like to thank Morris Soriano for his efforts in rallying the minyanaire community at OVS. Let's make it successful!

3) Our office is about to kick-off a new Congregation Or VeShalom website and membership system. More information about the system will be coming to you over the next few weeks in both paper mail and via email. We thank the Sisterhood for their support of this new system.

4)In addition to improving how we promote to the community, our hope is to rank higher on synagogue web searches through the rollout of the new system. Individuals increasingly look to the Internet to learn about synagogue communities or find times to attend services. Thank you to our promotions chair, Zina for working with our website system team on how to improve the capability of our website.
We hope to increase the number of members that access OVS digitally; however, we don't want to leave anyone behind. Unless members specifically opt out from direct mail, we plan to continue with our mailings for the foreseeable future. If a member does not use a computer or does not have access to the Internet, we definitely would like to know. We want everyone to have consistent access to news and promotions.

Please provide me with feedback on your synagogue experience. Your survey will be sent to me directly and will not be made public.

I ask that you continue to use this link to provide comments.
