Congregation Or VeShalom’s Sunday school program – Talmud Torah – is getting a face lift this summer. The school’s new Education Director, Nitzana Mamane, who is a certified teacher and has been working with kids of all ages for 15 years, is making efforts to bring out the best in the youth programs at OVS.

We have all new teachers at Talmud Torah who have experience in Jewish education and live a Sephardic lifestyle, a revised curriculum to focus on the Hebrew language, and fresh paint. Our goal is to integrate the congregational services into the youth programs at OVS. They are not two separate entities. In fact, we encourage you to join us for Shabbat services to give your students a chance to experience what they learn in class; to connect what they learn to real-world practices. We strive to make your child’s experience at OVS a memorable one.

Talmud Torah wishes to streamline the application process by making it available online. There’s no sense in wasting tons of paper when the same thing can be accomplished online. All responses come directly to the Education Director. All you have to do is contact the office to pay tuition. Don’t wait another minute! <a href=”applyonline | ovsyouthprograms” target=”_blank”>Click here</a> to enroll your child(ren) in the new and improved Talmud Torah school.

Dear OVS Members and Friends,

Over 500 people attended the funeral of Rabbi S. Robert Ichay this past Wednesday. It was a service befitting our beloved friend and spiritual leader.

If you were unable to be here with us, or if you were here and would like to hear it again, we are able to share an audio recording of the services, courtesy of Dressler’s Jewish Funeral Care. Use this link to the recording – and allow a moment for the file to download. You can then listen to the words that were spoken on Wednesday.
