When the Shark and the Fish First Met

April 23rd, 2008 by MLMaslia

by Gilad Shalit
At age 11, abducted Zahal soldier Gilad Shalit wrote about a fish and a shark who meet and, though natural enemies, they decide to become friends and live in piece.

This extraodinarry story, as related to congregants on the 1st day of Pesach by Rabbi Kassorla, can be found at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website by clicking on the following link:

Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA)

Gilad’s story was illustrated by Israeli artists and children, and displayed at The Edge Art Center in Nahariya in coordination with the Israeli Illustrators’ Association. The exhibit will be on display at the Ashdod Museum of Art – Monart Centre from February 10 until April 26, 2008.

The original story, in Hebrew, a coloring book, and more information can be found at and down loaded from the “Habonim” website at the following link: Habonim Website
